Anjali Tarun

Anjali started her PhD in MIP:lab in September 1, 2016 under the supervision of Dimitri Van de Ville. Her research project investigates how the structural connectivity (SC) within the white matter constrains the dynamics of functional connectivity (FC) between different regions of the gray matter, through state-of-the-art graph signal processing approaches. She is also working on characterising the dynamics of FC across different sleep stages.

Anjali obtained her bachelors degree in Applied Physics major in Instrumentation and her masters degree in pure Physics from the National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines, where she was also working as a full-time physics instructor. She did her research under the complex systems group of the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory for five years, specialising on particle tracking and complex systems research. She used network theory to characterise the spatiotemporal organisation of different dynamical systems.Prior to moving to Switzerland, she joined the Santa Fe Institute Complex Systems School in New Mexico, USA for training.
